Most professional quilters
have an inspirations folder that they turn to for ideas when the
dreaded quilter's block strikes, or when they receive a quilt top
the like of which they have not received before, or even when there
has been a workshop in town, or an extremely popular pattern means
they are presented with several of the same type of quilt...it
happens! This page is designed as a resource to pool and share our ideas and inspirations, to help spur us on to excellence in the art of quilting. Please feel free to contribute and to comment! The photographs have been left a reasonable size in order to better be able to see the actual quilting, which is the whole point of this part of the magazine. An even larger version is available by clicking on the photo on the page. I have tried to categorise the types of quilts to make the search for inspiration shorter, all you have to do is click on the item in the Inspirations menu on the right hand side of this page. Where possible I have sought permission of both the
maker and quilter for publication of these photos, however if either
of those requests withdrawal, or rescinds permission for their use,
then I am happy to remove them from this website. Since they are
published in the interests of inspiration and education I hope that
consideration will be given to this purpose.
